We're transitioning to all things Hormonal Health

We're transitioning to all things Hormonal Health

Health & Her is a brand built by women for women, and we’ve always been committed to supporting women in the often-challenging transitions of hormonal health. To date we have focused on perimenopause and menopause, but as part of our extensive research programmes, we've discovered an important link between hormones and nutrient levels throughout a woman's life.

As hormone levels fluctuate - for example during menopause, whilst taking hormonal contraception, HRT or even during natural peaks of hormones in our menstrual cycles - our nutrient requirements change. This is because micronutrients and sex hormones, like oestrogen and progesterone, are connected by many metabolic pathways in the body, meaning that hormones can affect the way we absorb, store and utilise the nutrients we receive from our diet. We call this link ‘The Hormo-Nutrient Effect’.

This connection was first recognised in the 1970s when the World Health Organization highlighted the influence of oral contraceptives on nutrient requirements as a topic of high relevance. However, despite its significance, the subject remained largely overlooked in the decades that followed. The science we have uncovered has taken this insight further, revealing that the link between hormones and nutrient levels extends far beyond contraception, influencing the nutrients women need more or less of across all stages of hormone health.

This groundbreaking information has provided us with important insights and inspired us to evolve and broaden our brand. After 20,000 hours of development, it has also led to our new range of multivitamin supplements, designed to support women's nutritional needs and overall wellbeing at every stage of their hormonal health journey.

We hope you'll continue to support us on our ongoing mission to empower women to support their vitality, be their true selves, and navigate through life with confidence… allowing them to continue being the heart and soul of our families and society.
